It’s okay to be wrong. To make mistakes. To experience repercussions and punishments. They are an opportunity to learn right from wrong.
Don’t let your instinct to protect defang appropriate punishment and opportunities to learn.
Let’s reconsider what we are trying to protect the inexperienced from.
Protect from death? Yes, of course.
Protect from discomfort? Maybe not…
Protect from a learning experience even if it’s a little painful? Definitely not!
